This article was prepared on October 25, 2026, based on Pragmatic Play's original The Dog House game page and 2019 release announcement. Megaways, Multihold and other sequels have different rules; What is described here is for the original version. The game has not been tried on a casino account.
The Dog House playing area and paylines
The manufacturer describes the original The Dog House game as a 20-line video slot with five reels and three lines. This is not a rule of collecting enough identical symbols anywhere on the screen like in Gates of Olympus. Lines and symbol values for winnings must be examined together in the paytable of the version played. Seeing a symbol does not mean that a suitable line has been formed.
The game features thematic symbols such as dog characters, collars and treats. We do not simulate a complete paytable here, as the manufacturer's presentation does not give all symbol multipliers and all line starts individually. Betting unit, active line, symbol value and version-specific differences, if any, on the real screen should be read from the help section.
How does multiplier wild work?
According to the original game page, the multiplier feature of wild symbols is found on the second, third and fourth reels. The wild can affect the corresponding prize when placed on a suitable winning line. Just because a wild appears doesn't mean it will be paid; match and payline conditions must also be met.
A wild image with a multiplier does not necessarily follow that the next spin will be advantageous. Randomly determined turns are not beholden to past results. Increasing the bet amount just to wait for a wild is not an advantage provided by knowledge of the rules, but a higher risk of spending.
Free spins and fixed wild feature
According to Pragmatic Play's launch announcement, the three paw bonus symbol unlocks the free spins mode. The number of free spins is determined randomly at this stage. Therefore, the fixed spin figure seen in another Dog House release should not be carried over to this game. Entering the free spins also does not guarantee a specific win.
The manufacturer's game page says that wild symbols remain constant in the bonus section. The expression “Sticky wild” describes the ability of the wild seen in this special section to maintain its position in subsequent bonus spins; It doesn't say that every wild is permanent in the base game. It should not be assumed that previous positions will be carried over to future rounds when the bonus runs out.
Rules and risk mixed with similar games
The Dog House Megaways, Multihold and Dog or Alive versions are separate games. The reel structure, bonus triggering method or number of spins may differ. Whether a screenshot seen on the internet under the title "The Dog House" actually belongs to the original version should be checked on the game name and provider screen.
Learning the rules helps to understand which symbol does what; It does not remove the mathematical house advantage and does not offer a foolproof method of winning. The feeling of getting closer to a free spin is not a reason to increase the bet. It is necessary to set a budget limit before playing and not to continue with the aim of recovering losses. Access to the game depends on the law and age limit of your location.
